Ebook Readers
One of the biggest bonuses of ebooks (at least in my opinion) is the fact you can download an ebook novel then send it straight to your ebook reader to read where ever and whenever you want. No need to lug around a huge and often heavy hardback novel, with ebooks and ereaders you can take a whole stack of novels with you.
The biggest problem is deciding what ebook reader is best for you. There’s so many on offer now that it’s often hard to know where to start. So before you make your purchase take the time to decide what is right for you: Do you only want it to read ebooks? if that’s the case you really don’t need all the bells and whistles and other shiny objects that come with some of the more top of the range ereaders. If, however, you want to use it for more than just reading your ebook (accounting, appointments, games etc) then you may need to look into just what’s available, of course nowadays there’s also things like the Kindle where you can purchase and download straight to your ereader rather than the step of getting it to your computer and then sending to your ereader.
My first Ebook Reader was a good old second hand (purchased from ebay) Palm VX that did everything I needed it to do (which was mainly read ebooks) and never caused me a problem – that is until I spilt my drink on it – it was never the same – it would turn on etc but I couldn’t transfer stuff to it, if it wasn’t for that damn spill I’d probably still be using it today (many years later – I do still have it and it does still turn on) from there I purchased another PDA – this one a hewlitt packard thing (again from ebay) and while that did the trick – and was cool in the sense that it was colour so I could see the pretty pictures properly and again I really only wanted it for my ebooks, that one, while still working didn’t really last anywhere near as long as my palm so I splurged just the other day and got myself a new (well second hand again) Palm TX – and I love it. While again I’ll mainly use it to read my ebook novels it has a nice clean big screen and lots of other cool stuff.

Of course that’s just my opinion and other people will no doubt prefer other brands etc and it’s all very much dependent on what else you want to use your PDA (ereader for).
So before you take the step of purchasing a PDA for yourself decide first what you want to use it for and then how much you want to spend etc. Remeber to that different PDA’s require different software – the Palm for example allows you to freely download an ereader so you can read your ebooks. Others require Mobi readers, doc readers etc etc (most of which you can download for free)
